Questions that shape the plan
Start with the concern, not a graft
Describe what bothers you and when it began: shortening, a lifted nostril rim, a tilted bridge, an implant outline or a change in breathing. Separate an appearance you have never liked from a new or worsening symptom. These histories may lead to different assessments.
What should the assessment establish?
Bring the dates of earlier procedures and any operation records. Discuss existing implants or grafts, scar tightness, remaining cartilage and your priorities. Ask which findings can be assessed before surgery and which uncertainties may remain. A photograph can explain a concern but cannot confirm a complete surgical plan.
A revision may involve several separate decisions
Ask whether the plan concerns an existing implant, nasal support, soft-tissue coverage, nostril position or a combination. A material name alone does not describe the operation. Request an explanation of what each proposed component is intended to change and what it cannot correct.
Timing, recovery and a realistic endpoint
Do not choose a surgery date solely by counting months since the previous operation. Healing, symptoms and examination influence timing. Discuss persistent asymmetry, scars, breathing changes and the possibility of further treatment. Before travel, confirm appointments, follow-up and who to contact after returning home.

CASE 22002
Clinical photographs and follow-up
Revision rhinoplasty, Contracted nose surgery (1 month after surgery)
The recorded follow-up interval is shown above. Individual results vary. These photographs do not establish the exact technique or the contribution of each procedure; early follow-up is not a final result.

Is every revision a complete reconstruction?
No. The extent depends on the problem and available tissues. Ask which structures need attention and whether a limited correction would address your concern.
Can I receive a final plan from photographs?
Photographs and records support an initial discussion. Examination is needed to assess suitability and confirm a plan; some uncertainties may remain until surgery.
Does revision always require rib cartilage?
No. Discuss the purpose of any proposed graft, available alternatives and why the amount or strength of material is appropriate for your case.
Prepare for your consultation
Share the dates and types of previous operations, known implants or grafts, the change you want assessed and your travel plans. Ask Dr. Lee Kyuho to explain the proposed correction, alternatives, limits and follow-up.
New or worsening redness, pain, swelling, drainage, exposed material or significant breathing difficulty needs prompt medical assessment. Do not wait for an overseas cosmetic consultation.
